Following the recent launch of New Summit Impact Fund III, we are excited to announce our first investment in City Light Capital, a venture capital fund that invests in products creating impact in the themes of safety and care, education, and the environment. 

New Summit previously invested in City Light’s third fund, and we are excited to continue our partnership with City Light Capital.

City Light Capital is an active investor, with frequent interaction with portfolio companies, and serves as a director or observer for most of its portfolio companies. Their seed vehicle, City Spark, supports its funds with sourcing and evaluating high-potential companies that can later convert into Series A fund investments.

City Light Capital targets investments in product-based companies that have social or environmental impact embedded in their business models and are creating meaningful change. They look for strong management teams attacking large and growing markets with demonstrated traction and identified barriers to entry.

Partner Josh Cohen established City Light Capital and the organization’s experimental seed fund in 2004. Since then, City Light Capital has focused on impact-driven, early-stage companies with high financial potential, launching IV2 in 2008 and IV3 in 2015. City Light Capital’s investment strategy seeks US-based investments within its defined investment themes.
